Because hydrogen peroxide is a common household component and a natural oxidant, it is effective as a teeth-whitening agent. Carbamide peroxide is made up of carbamide (a.k.a. urea) and hydrogen peroxide. For every 10% carbamide peroxide, there is 3% hydrogen peroxide.
