Learn About Skincare for Men: Do’s and Don’ts for Better Skin

Knowing what not to do is half the battle of skincare, as is learning how and when to use all of the proper products. Here are the essential skincare do’s and don’ts. Some skincare principles are universal—and do’s and don’ts that serve as guideposts for people of all ages and skin types.

Men Skincare

They’re simple to remember and much simpler to put into action. Surprisingly, many of these hints are unknown to a huge percentage of the population. Whether you’re just starting a skincare regimen or want to take a more serious approach to your current one.

Regardless of your skincare knowledge or experience, you should study some of the fundamental principles that form the cornerstone of any program. The following are the skincare dos and don’ts that we believe are most important to remember during your skincare journey.

1. Wash first, then moisturize

No matter how basic or complex your skincare routine is, it should always include a cleanser and a moisturizer. The cleanser removes any residue (sweat, filth, product buildup) and allows subsequent products to effectively absorb while also clearing up pores and preventing clogging and breakouts.

If you prefer to include lightweight products (toners, serums, etc.), they come next. But save your moisturizer for the conclusion of the routine because it seals off the skin and works as an extra moisture defense barrier, keeping water locked inside and preventing pollution, oxidants, and germs from straining and irritating the skin.

Of course, you can apply SPF on top of the hydrator (better yet, find yourself a double-duty solution like our SPF moisturizer that combines replenishing hydration with lightweight UV protection).

2. Don’t Exfoliate Too Much

Exfoliation on a regular basis is essential for maintaining smooth, even-toned skin and keeping pores free. Depending on whether you use a physical or chemical exfoliant, the process rubs away or dissolves dead skin cells.
